Partly-printed DS, signed “W. McKinley,” one page, 12.25 x 15.5, December 15, 1894. As governor of Ohio, McKinley appoints John J. Lehmann "to be a Notary Public, for the County of Seneca, for the Term of Three Years." Prominently signed at the conclusion in ink by Governor William McKinley and countersigned by Secretary of State Samuel M. Taylor. The gold foil seal at lower left remains fully intact. Matted and framed to an overall size of 19 x 22. In very good to fine condition, with several edge tears, and staining in the area of the seal, none of which affects the bold signature.
