American army officer (1860-1948) who was Commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I and one of the most celebrated soldiers in American history. Outstanding vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo of Pershing in uniform, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "For the American Minister and Mrs. W. C. Cook, with very cordial regard, and good wishes, John J. Pershing, July 1925.” In fine condition.
