Outstanding vintage ink signature, "Thomas A. Edison, Orange, New Jersey, USA,” on an off-white 8 x 5 album page. Accompanied by several other pages removed from the same autograph book, with another signature of note being that of physicist and mathematician Francis Robbins Upton, who worked alongside Edison in the development of incandescent light bulbs, electric generators, and electric power distribution. Other signers include: engineer Amedee Vernes, who worked with Edison; clockmaker and jeweler Jacques Gustave Sandoz; a jury in the World Exhibition 1889 in Paris (Mollard, Fuchs, Konya, Puig y Valls, Chauveau, Hoskold); geologist Johan Herman Lie Vogt; and mathematician Peter Le Neve Foster. In fine condition, with scattered faint foxing.
