Founder (1873–1932) of the Chalmers Motor Company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, which started in 1908 and continued production of high-end vehicles until 1923 when it merged with Chrysler. Vintage matte-finish 6 x 8 photo of Hugh Chalmers in a distinguished bust-length pose, affixed to the original 10.75 x 13.75 C. M. Hayes & Co. studio mount, signed on the mount in black ink, "Sincerely yours, Hugh Chalmers, January–1910." In very good to fine condition, with light soiling and toning to the mount.
