DS, six pages, 8.5 x 11, September 25, 1959. Theatrical Motion Picture Agency Contract between Ingemar Johansson and the William Morris Agency, with the former agreeing to hire the latter as “his agent in theatrical motion pictures” for a commission of 10%. Signed at the conclusion in bold blue ballpoint by Johansson. In fine condition.
This contract dates to three months after Johansson defeated then-heavyweight champ Floyd Patterson in the first of their three legendary bouts. They would rematch a year later, with Patterson retaking the NYSAC, NBA, and The Ring heavyweight titles with a 5th-round KO on June 20, 1960. That same year, Johansson appeared as a marine in the movie All the Young Men alongside stars Alan Ladd and Sidney Poitier.
