Hardcover 1953 The Herald yearbook from Humes High School in Memphis, Tennessee, 112 pages, 8 x 11, signed next to his senior portrait in ink, "Best of luck to a swell guy, Elvis." The caption below his portrait indicates that Presley majored in “Shop, History, English,” and that he was a member of the ROTC, Biology Club, English Club, History Club, and Speech Club. Another section of the yearbook includes the "Last Will and Testament" of each student, with Section 83 reading: “Donald Williams, Raymond McCraig and Elvis Presley leave hoping there will be someone to take their places as 'teacher's pets.' ???????" The remainder of the interior, including the page signed by Presley, bears numerous other students' signatures. In very good condition, with a torn spine, broken hinges, and many pages partially detached pages held in place with old clear tape; Elvis' signature is somewhat faded, but remains fully legible. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. Signed material from this early, pre-fame period of Elvis' life is considerably scarce and sought-after.
