ALS, one page, 4.5 x 4, January 12, 1860. Handwritten letter replying to an autograph request, from his "Sherwood Forest" estate. In full: "Mr. Barrett's note is received. He will please accept this as my autograph." Inlaid into a larger sheet and in fine condition, with a stain touching one letter of the signature.
