Uncommon set of two original programs from Leonard Bernstein’s historic Vatican concert on June 23, 1973, when he conducted his Chichester Psalms and Bach's Magnificat for Pope Paul VI in celebration of the 10th anniversary of his elevation to the Papacy. Both programs, 6.25 x 8, are signed on the title page in black ballpoint by Bernstein, who led the Orchestra Sinfonica de Roma, the Harvard Glee Club, and the Newark Boys Chorus. The concert is notable for potentially being the first time music with a Hebrew text was performed at the Vatican. In overall fine condition.
