ALS in Yiddish, one page both sides, 5.75 x 8.25, May 11, 1972. Handwritten letter to David Giladi, a Jewish art dealer and a collector of Chagall's work, in part: "Thank you for sending a copy of the letter and another letter. I feel that you and our country are interested in me and my situation, but I feel overjoyed to hear the power of the youth in our country. I'm kissing them—just as I kiss and feel towards my pictures…
Later, during the day or tomorrow, when you have time, have yourself with my art among you. Think of me. I am no longer young, but my attitude towards our country is growing and intensifying. You ask me for things—but I do not have the strength to engage in all these things. In Mourlot in Paris and Maight…there will be an exhibition of my works in May-June." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Chagall's own hand and adding his surname, "Chagall," in the return address on the flap.
