Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page, 15.25 x 9.5, April 14, 1825. President Adams grants Francis Lewis a tract of land "in the District of Cahaba and State of Alabama, containing One hundred and Sixty three acres." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by President John Quincy Adams and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office George Graham. The white paper seal affixed at the lower left remains intact. In very good to fine condition, with all of the handwritten portions, including Adams' signature, light but legible. Accompanied by an engraved portrait of Adams.
