Manuscript vellum DS, signed “George R. I.,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 10.25 x 15.75, March 4, 1913. Indenture made between Sir William Henry Peregrine Carington, “The Keeper of His Majesty’s Privy Purse,” and Eleanor Coates Tylden, which relates to the king’s agreeing to sell and convey hereditaments of his private estate, described thusly as “Marshland situate at Dersingham in the County of Norfolk,” for a sum of 600 pounds. Signed at the top of the first page by King George V, and countersigned at the bottom of the second page by William Carington, who signs next to the orange wax seal. The adjacent third page bears a hand-colored map of the conveyed land. In fine condition.
