Rachmaninoff, London, 26 Mai 1908," adding a three-bar AMQS, identified in his hand as an excerpt from "2 Concerto, Op. 18." On the same day that he signed this photo, Rachmaninoff performed the excerpted concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Koussevitzky at the Queen's Hall. The piece established his fame as a concerto composer, and remains one of his most popular pieces to this day.
