In full: "I received today a copy of your letter of 24 February. The modifications of the psychochemicals piece which you suggest are simple and straightforward enough, but they will require the facilities of a good research library in biochemistry. Unfortunately, I will not have access to such a library for three months, since I am committed to traveling for that time in Spain, France and Morocco. The notes I am carrying with me are inadequate for a complete and authoritative documentation.
The research requirements of the piece are, in fact, deceptive. Offhand, I can think of only four places in the world where I could be certain of finding the information you request. Three are in American universities—Stanford, Harvard, and U.C.L.A.—and the fourth is the Mollecular Biology Lab at Cambridge, England. I will be back at Harvard in August, and can promise the completed manuscript in your hands before August 23.
I suspect this delay is as unsatisfactory to Playboy as it is to me, but there is really no other solution. Unless I hear from you at my home address, 21 The Loch, Roslyn, N.Y., I will assume the postponement has not disrupted your editorial plans too severely, and will proceed to finish the piece in August." In very good to fine condition, with light creasing in the margins.
