Choice color glossy 8 x 10 photo of President Lyndon B. Johnson and his wife Lady Bird meeting with Texas Governor John B. Connally and his wife Nellie, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen by LBJ, "To John and Nellie, With our gratitude and love, Lady Bird and Lyndon B. Johnson.” Reverse bears “A Kodak Paper” watermarks and is stamp-dated August 22, 1964. In fine condition.
Texas Governor John B. Connally was riding in the same car as President John F. Kennedy during the assassination on November 22, 1963. He was wounded by the same gunfire that killed Kennedy, suffering serious injuries but ultimately surviving. Connally always maintained that he was hit by a separate bullet, challenging the 'single bullet theory' proposed by the Warren Commission. A significant association piece connected to the JFK assassination.
