ALS signed “Doc,” (as frequently done when writing to his wife) one page both sides, 7.25 x 10, attractive color ‘Zane Grey Camp (Umpqua River)’ stationery, July 3rd, no year [annotated 1937 in another hand]. Handwritten letter to his wife, Dolly, in part: “Your letter sounded pretty tired & blue & lovely. I’m sorry, Dolly. I thought you’d perk right up. Today I suppose you are in Avalon, and that will do you good…You must go to the dentist, and then you need have some respite from the office. Come up here with Romer for a week, if, as I said before, you can get some one to drive you or with you. There’s orders, wife!…I couldn’t make much of the inclosure from Briggs. It might be a good plan to publish that book in Australia pretty pronto, especially if I decide to go out there next winter, instead of South America. More about that anon. I would try to get 1000 or 500 pounds from the publishers in advance.” In very fine condition.
