Canadian-American filmmaker and studio head (1880–1960) who opened Keystone Studios, the first fully enclosed film stage, and was the originator of slapstick routines such as pie-throwing and car-chases; in 1938, he was presented with an honorary Academy Award for his contribution to film comedy. Vintage matte-finish 7.5 x 9.5 portrait of the pioneering filmmaker by Hartsook Studios, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To my best friend, Tony Sullivan, with best wishes, Mack Sennett.” Nicely mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 14 x 16. In fine condition.
