Verdi, Paris, 12 Avril 1894." Verdi quotes from the second act of his great comic opera, "Falstaff," penning three bars of music and lyrics in Italian: "Quand'ero paggio del Duca di Norfolk [When I was a page to the Duke of Norfolk]." In fine condition, with a trivial light stain to the bottom edge.
