Description

Apollo 14 LMP Edgar Mitchell's Grumman Lunar Module training log, signed 13 times by the legendary moonwalker

Hardcover "LM Log" presented to Edgar Mitchell by Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, 4.75 x 6.25, containing 24 pages of handwritten training data, logging his time spent training in Lunar Module (LM) simulators and in the Lunar Test Article (LTA) from February 1967 to April 1969. Mitchell certifies the date, vehicle, description, and duration of training, amounting to over 845 hours spent by April 30, 1969. Descriptions include: "G&N Func.," "CES," "FEAT," "R/R Verif.," "Lighting," "Data Channel Verif.," "EPS OCP," "Rend. Radar," "Cabin Checks," "Mission Simulation," "Water/Glycol Fill," "AGS," "COMM," "Des. Eng. Funct.," "G&N Subsystem," and "Flt. Controls." Each two-page spread is signed by Mitchell in the lower left, "Edgar D. Mitchell." The book is also signed on the first page in black ballpoint, "From my personal space collection—Edgar D. Mitchell," and stamped below, "Provenance: The Edgar D. Mitchell Space Collection." In fine condition, with light soiling to boards.




Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Karlyn Mitchell, the daughter of Edgar Mitchell.
