Uncommon 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet portrait of the celebrated French stage actress in a dramatic full-length pose, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, "Sarah Bernhardt, 1896." Published by the Anne Dupont Studio of New York. In very good to fine condition, with light scuffing and soiling, and a small square of surface loss above, but not touching, the end of the signature.
