World War II-dated original bi-fold invitation for a “Dinner in honor of Professor Albert Einstein, Chairman of the Advisory Board, in behalf of The American Fund for Palestinian Institutions,” to be held at the Hotel Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on June 5, 1944, four pages, 6 x 9.25, containing printed messages from honorary chairman Frieda Schiff Warburg and president Lt. Edward A. Norman, the latter of whom writes: “My hearty greetings and deep regrets that I cannot be with you at the American Fund Dinner on June 5, 1944. My experiences in the war zone further convinces me that as the victorious end of the war draws closer, it is evident that Palestine is destined to play an important role in the gigantic task of enabling the oppressed Jews of Europe to reconstruct their lives.” In fine condition, with a crayon mark to the cover and intersecting folds.
