Pioneering aviation engineer (1889-1972) who developed the first four-engine airplane and the first modern helicopter to be put into widespread use. World War II-dated glossy 8 x 10 portrait photo of Igor Sikorsky, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "With kindest regards of I. Sikorsky, March 26, 1943.” The lower left bears caption text related to the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Sikorsky Aero Engineering Corporation. In very good condition, with moderately heavy overall creasing.
