Description

LS as president, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 4.75 x 10.75, Executive Mansion letterhead, November 22, 1890. Letter to Matilda Davis, in full: "Your very courteous invitation to be present at the opening night of the Teachers Bazaar, Dec. 10th has been received. I regret that it will not be possible for me to attend, as public duties will not allow me to be absent from Washington at that time. With best wishes for the entire success of your Bazaar." The second page of the letter has been trimmed and affixed beneath the first page. In very good to fine condition, with toning from prior display.
