Description

Unsigned handwritten notes in pencil by President John F. Kennedy, one page, 4 x 7.25, The Carlyle letterhead, no date but circa 1961. Kennedy jots down three separate thoughts, concluding with a note on potential changes to a "Trade Bill." In fine condition.

These interesting political and economic notes are enhanced by their stationery: The Carlyle Hotel became known as 'the New York White House' during Kennedy's administration, as the president maintained an apartment on the 34th floor. The Carlyle became the site of frequent meetings with friends and dignitaries alike, his visitors ranging from Marilyn Monroe to Secretary of State Dean Rusk.
