TLS signed “Jerry Ford,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, June 27, 1977. Letter to Zoltan Merszei, in full: "Thank you for your nice letter. I, too, was pleased for the opportunity to see you again. I am deeply grateful for the $500,000 grant to the University Library from The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation. Naturally, the library project is very close to my heart and I sincerely hope it will be of benefit to future generations of students and historians." Ford also crosses out Merszei's last name in the salutation and writes his first name, "Zoltan." In fine condition. Zoltan Merszei (1922-2019) was a Hungarian-born citizen who worked for Dow Chemical Company, leading the company's expansion in Europe during the 1960s and early 1970s.
