Ballpoint signature, "Barack Obama,” on the reverse of a white 8.5 x 11 flyer for a fundraiser held by the Knox County Democrats. Collector's notation indicates that the signature was collected on July 31, 2004 at Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL. In fine condition, with some show-through from the printed text on the back. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in part: "After Mr. Obama spoke, I introduced myself to Mr. and Mrs. Obama. I told them I had read Mr. Obama's books and greatly appreciated his writing. Then I ask for him to sign his name on the paper I had. I learned of the speech Mr. Obama planned to deliver through my Warren County friends who are democrats."
