Description

Amazing period-signed first pressing of the Ramones’ debut album, obtained in Texas in July 1977 during the band’s first tour of the USA

Original first pressing of the Ramones’ self-titled debut album (Sire Records, SASD-7520), signed on the front cover in black felt tip by Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, and Tommy Ramone. This first pressing has the Side A misspellings of ‘Blitzkreig Bop’ and ‘Beat Is On The Brat,’ and features Variant 8 matrix and runout numbers: “T1 SASD 7520 A RE-1 2 STERLING D / T1 SASD 7520 -B-RE-1-2 STERLING ^.” In fine condition. The record is included. Accompanied by a notarized letter of provenance from the original recipient, who is pictured with the Ramones at the time of the signing: at Randy's Rodeo in San Antonio, Texas, on July 18, 1977, during the band’s first American Tour. An exceedingly rare period-signed debut album by the Ramones that boasts bold signatures of all four original band members.
