Sherman, General," and signed and inscribed on the reverse, "To Lt. J. C. Scantling, 2nd U. S. Artillery, Compliments of W. T. Sherman, General, St. Louis, Mo., Feb. 8, 1876." In very good to fine condition, with light scuffing and soiling.
