Signed vertically on the title page in blue felt tip, "Roger Bannister, 3:59.4." In very good condition, with foxing, age toning, a creased spine and obvious signs of having been read. A scarce and desirable copy of Bannister's racing memoirs; up until the 50th-anniversary reissue in 2004, this was the only copy of the book to feature a picture of Bannister breaking the record on the front cover.
