Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 19" x 23", December 20, 1927. President Coolidge appoints Dana G. Munro of New Jersey as "a Foreign Service Officer of Class four of the United States of America." Crisply signed at the conclusion in ink by President Calvin Coolidge and countersigned by Secretary of State Charles Evans Hughes. The embossed white paper seal affixed at the lower left remains intact. In fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from JSA. During his twelve years with the State Department, Munro served as a special envoy to Haiti, charge d'affairs in Managua, consul to Chile, and as head of the Latin American division; he later joined the faculty at Princeton University as a professor of Latin American history.
