Description

Two letters signed by Richard Nixon: a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, October 12, 1984, in part: "I want you to know how much I appreciated your letter of October 4th with regard to Real Peace. It was most thoughtful of you to write as you did"; and a TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, September 12, 1988, in part: "I want you to know how much I appreciated your thoughtfulness in sending me the baseball program from Griffith Stadium during the 1942 season. When I saw that Phillies cigars were advertised for five cents each, I knew it had to be a long time ago! Incidentally, I noted that Mickey Vernon was playing first base then. I had a good visit with him when we both attended a Mets game at Shea Stadium a month ago. He still looks as if he is in good enough shape to pinch hit." In overall very fine condition. Accompanied by both original mailing envelopes and an official White House portrait of Nixon, featuring his facsimile signature.

From the Collection of Paul K. Carr, former UACC President and Noted Expert.
