Exceptional official color semi-glossy 9.5 x 7.5 NASA photo of the Earth hovering over the lunar horizon, affixed to its original 14 x 11 cardstock mount, which signed in the lower border in black ink and ballpoint by Gene Cernan, Tom Stafford, and Wally Schirra, with the upper border inscribed and titled in an unknown hand, “Earthrise from the Moon, for Kent Crane – our old hunting partner.” In very good to fine condition, with scattered light foxing and staining to the mount.
Originates from the collection of American diplomat and former Foreign Service officer Kent Crane, who served as the former Special Assistant to Vice President Spiro Agnew and acted as a liaison between the White House and NASA during the Apollo Program. A close friend of the astronauts, Crane fished with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins and, as this photo indicates, hunted alongside Gene Cernan, Tom Stafford, and Wally Schirra.
