Original playbill for the first Broadway run of Tennessee Williams' award-winning play A Streetcar Named Desire, 6.5 x 8.75, signed on the front cover in fountain pen by Marlon Brando and Jessica Tandy. In fine condition, with light handling wear. Premiering at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Broadway on December 3, 1947, A Streetcar Named Desire marked Marlon Brando's acting debut playing Stanley Kowalski, cementing him as a rising star. The production garnered Tandy a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role as Blanche DuBois, while Brando would reprise his role as Kowalski on the big screen in 1951, and earn an Academy Award nomination. A remarkable set of early signatures from two award-winning actors.
