Clemens, Mark Twain,” on an off-white 5 x 2.75 card, with ink signature of novelist George Alfred Townsend, on a 3 x 1 off-white slip, below a 5.75 x 8.25 silver print photograph of Townsend (on left) Clemens (middle) and David Gray seated together, taken by Mathew Brady in 1871 when all three men were together in Washington D.C. on a lobbying effort. The signatures and photograph are lightly mounted on a 9.75 x 13.75 gilt-edged album page. In fine condition.
