LS signed “J. A. Garfield,” one page, 4.75 x 8, House of Representatives letterhead, April 7, 1879. Letter to W. E. Ketcham, promising that he will send a speech. In full: "Accept my thanks for your kind note of the 31st. inst. In a day or two I will send you a copy of the speech to which you refer. Remember me kindly to Mrs. Ketcham.” In fine condition, with splitting to the end of one fold, and light offsetting to the ink at the bottom. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
