Vintage matte-finish 7.25 x 9.25 photo of Albert Einstein by Aaron Tycko of New York, affixed to its original 9.5 x 11.5 mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in fountain pen, "To Mr. J. Masirick, Albert Einstein, 1934.” Also signed on the mount in pencil by the photographer. Matted and framed to an overall size of 13 x 15. In very good to fine condition, with silvering to the image (heaviest along the edges), a surface tear to the top of the image, and a crease to the left edge of the mount.
Einstein greatly admired Tycko's artistic portraits, writing to him on March 2, 1932, that he found in them 'a truly artistic treatment of the light effect through which photography approximates the art of painting.' A fabulous portrait of the genius, signed by the subject and creator.
