Handwritten letter to former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara, in full: "I can't thank you and your family enough for opening your homes to us. We never needed a vacation more or enjoyed one more-I hope you'll return the favor by coming and staying with us at the White House. Thanks again." McNamara lightly added the year of the letter next to the date. In fine to very fine condition. The letter originates from the estate of Robert McNamara. Clinton remains quite scarce in autograph letters as president, with this example further enhanced by its connection to the past Democratic administrations of JFK and LBJ - under whom McNamara served as Secretary of Defense - and the scarce additions of the Hillary and Chelsea Clinton signatures.
