Description

Army officer and civil engineer (1858-1928) appointed by Theodore Roosevelt to oversee the construction of the Panama Canal. TLS signed “Geo. W. Goethals,” one page, 8 x 10.5, Panama Rail Road Company letterhead, August 21, 1915. Letter to Wilbur G. Miller, associated editor of the Syracuse Journal, in full: "Many thanks for your note of the 18th instant and enclosure. I remember you at the White House and appreciate and thank you for the complimentary editorial." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
