LS signed “Elizabeth R,” one page, 12 x 8.25, January 21, 1592. An untranslated letter in Early Modern English, neatly signed at the head by Queen Elizabeth I. The letter retains its address leaf. In good condition, with a large area of paper loss to the upper right, and areas of heavy staining, both of which affect the text of the document, but don't adversely affect the otherwise bold signature. One of the most legendary leaders in world history, Queen Elizabeth I oversaw the transformation of England into a modern world power. Her autograph is among the most sought-after of all European royalty.
