British soldier and administrator (1861-1936) most famous for his role during World War I, in which he led the Egyptian Expeditionary Force in the conquest of Palestine and Syria in 1917 and 1918. ALS signed “Allenby,” one page, 6.25 x 8, personal letterhead, July 20, [no year]. Handwritten letter, in full: "I shall be glad to see you if you can call here at 6 p. m. tomorrow—Thursday the 21st." In fine condition, with a small stain at the bottom edge.
