"I am happy and proud that the city of Munich, a city universally known as an artistic center, one could say the capital of the arts, has chosen one of my bronzes"

LS in French, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 6 x 7.75, July 31, 1913. Letter to Walter Zimermann, Secretary of the International Art Exhibition in Munich, who had acquired a Rodin bronze for the Bavarian State. In part (translated): "I am pleased to acknowledge receipt of the contract between the Bavarian State and me for the purchase of the bronze 'Falguière,' which I am returning to you signed herewith. I am happy and proud that the city of Munich, a city universally known as an artistic center, one could say the capital of the arts, has chosen one of my bronzes. Please pass on my most respectful thanks to the Bavarian state. While complimenting you on the perfect way in which you have organized the Exhibition, please accept, Sir, the assurance of my best feelings." In very good to fine condition, with light staining, soiling, and a central horizontal fold. Superior content from the legendary sculptor.
