Stock certificate issued to Jessie McElroy for 48 shares of the Albany Insurance Company, endorsed on the reverse by President Chester A. Arthur's niece and nephew, Jessie McElroy and Charles E. McElroy. In fine condition. Mary Arthur McElroy (1841-1917) was the sister of Chester A. Arthur and served as acting first lady during his term in office; this stock certificate is signed by two of her children, Jessie McElroy (1867-1934) and Charles Edward McElroy (1873-1947).
