Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Robert Ryan from one of his earlier films, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Barry, My best, Bob Ryan." Reverse bears a couple of RKO copyright stamps. In fine condition, with some light edge creasing, and rippling to the bottom edge. An appealing and brooding photo of the Oscar-nominated actor whose portrayals of hardened cops and ruthless villains were quite the opposite of his real-life persona—Ryan was a pacifist and a strong proponent of Civil Rights and fighting racial discrimination.
