Chinese-born American film and television actor (1904-1991) who was the first Chinese-American contract player signed by RKO, Universal Pictures, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and was one of the most prominent Asian actors of American cinema in the mid-20th century. A founding member of the Screen Actors Guild, Luke is remembered for playing Lee Chan in the Charlie Chan films, the original Kato in the 1939-1941 Green Hornet film serials, and Mr. Wing in the Gremlins films. Two signed photos: a vintage glossy 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To C. E. 'Tim' Whistler, Good luck! Keye Luke, #1 Son Charlie Chan"; and a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Luke pouring tea, signed in black felt tip, "Keye Luke.". In very good to fine condition, with surface impressions to the inscribed portrait.
