Partly-printed DS, signed “Ray Robinson,” one page both sides, 4.75 x 3, September 5, 1950. A State Athletic Commission application card for a boxer license renewal, filled out in another hand in blue ballpoint, listing Robinson’s given name, address, ring name (“Ray Robinson”), ring weight (“147”), birth date, and color (“Brn”). Signed at the bottom in blue ink by Robinson, and countersigned above in fountain pen by his lifelong manager George Gainford. The reverse, which bears a stapled program photo of Robinson, notes that his license was suspended on August 10, 1950, and restored on September 4, 1950. In fine condition. A significant document that dates to Robinson's successful switch from being the world's best welterweight to being the world's best middleweight.
