Description

TLS signed “D. Lloyd George,” one page, 7 x 9, Bron-y-de letterhead, June 14, 1939. Letter to Dr. Cecil Roth at Merton College, in part: "I have thought of taking the matter up myself with the 'Times,' but have let it drop. I think however, that Professor Norman Jones' letter was a dishonest piece of controversy, as the figure he took was after Titus conquered Jerusalem, and after a series of rebellions by the Jews, culminating in 6 years of continuous fighting, when a great number of them had been scattered abroad. The fact is pointed out in the report of the Royal Commission, so that he could not have been ignorant of it." In fine condition.
