Famed diarist, memoirist, and wit (1759-1818) who was Queen of Sweden (1809-1818) and Norway (1814-1818) as the consort of King Charles XIII and II. Her diary and writings are considered rich sources for historical research on the Swedish Royal Court and European politics of the era. ALS in French, signed “Charlotte,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 5.75 x 7.75, April 17, 1818. Untranslated handwritten letter by Hedvig Elisabeth Charlotte of Holstein-Gottorp. In fine condition, with a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top of the last page.
