King of Prussia (born 1797) from 1861 and first Emperor of Germany from 1871 until his death in 1888; a member of the House of Hohenzollern, he was the first head of state of a united Germany. Manuscript DS in German, signed “Wilhelm,” one page, 9 x 14, April 7, 1879. Untranslated official document, signed at the conclusion by Wilhelm I as King of Prussia. In very good to fine condition, with light staining to the left margin, and several small chips and tears to top and bottom edges.
