Vintage light green 3 x 5 card signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “Love to Jill, from The Beatles, Paul McCartney, xxx,” “George Harrison, xxx,” and “John Lennon, x,” and in ballpoint, “Ringo Starr, xxx.” The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained either at the Plaza Ballroom in Old Hill, Dudley, Staffordshire on January 11, 1963, or at the Ritz Ballroom in King’s Heath, Birmingham on February 15th. In fine condition.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks, and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “During the 1960’s my husband played in a rock ‘n’ roll group called the Mysterians. In 1963 the group was contracted to play at The Ritz Ballroom, Kings Heath, Birmingham and The Plaza Dance and Social Club in Rookery Road, Handsworth, Birmingham and their name was changed to the Plazents. These two venues were wonderful starting points for the many up and coming groups who were coming on to the musical scene. In 1963 The Beatles played at both of these venues and I was lucky enough to meet them backstage and obtain the autographs from all 4 Beatles. I feel very lucky to have been part of the musical scene of that time.”
