One of America's premier railroad builders (1812-1892) who was involved with the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and First Transcontinental Railroad. Partly-printed DS, one page, 8 x 6.75, February 10, 1892. Document by which Astor appoints "Percy R. Pyne, George Bliss and Wilson G. Hunt…my lawful proxies and attorneys for me and in my name, place, and stead, to appear at a Meeting of the Stockholders of The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Company." Signed at the conclusion by Dillon, and countersigned by a witness. In fine condition, with two tiny tears to the bottom edge.
