Description

French soldier and diplomat (1741-1791) who had an influential role in the Continental Congress and new government of the United States of America in the aftermath of the Revolutionary War. ALS in French, one page, 6.25 x 7.75, January 30, 1788. Untranslated handwritten letter from London, where he was posted as Ambassador to the Court of St. James's, with reference to "egalite" and "leur constitution." In fine condition, with a block of toning to center.
